Alicia Ruiz Lopez is a visual artist and designer, living in Dublin. Her artwork explores concepts relating to the impact of the physical and built environment on people’s lives and considers how public and private spaces in urban and suburban settings shape human behaviour. Her studio work places a strong emphasis on making and creating, often using materials associated with construction such as concrete, steel, wood, glass, and plastic. Her design background is evident in her artwork, often referencing the disciplines of architecture and industrial design.
Alicia holds a BA Hons Fine Art Degree (First Class) in Sculpture and Expanded Practice from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, and previously received a Diploma in Fashion and Textile Design (Distinction) from IDEP Barcelona.
